“Law and Rurality” Professional Development Panel
Sat, 6/1: 12:45 PM - 2:30 PM
Danielle Conway, University of Maine Law School
Lisa Pruitt, UC Davis School of Law
Maybell Romero, Northern Illinois University College of Law
Michele Statz, University of Minnesota
Kathryne Young, University of Massachusetts, Amherst
Why isn't there a closer connection between law and society and rural studies, and what kind of scholarship is most needed to bridge the gap? This professional development panel will be a continuation of the Law and Rurality Workshop held at UC Davis in February, at which scholars presented a diverse collection of working papers at the intersection of rurality, space, and the law. This conversation will showcase scholars' continuing work at this intersection, but will also more broadly discuss the future of space and rurality studies in law and society.
